Busta rhymes - Live at crystal palace bowl

15/08/2025

On August 15th, the legendary rapper Busta Rhymes headlined a hugely anticipated show at the Crystal Palace Bowl, part of the 2025 series festivals hosted by South Facing Festival.

It marked his only London festival appearance this summer.

The stage was stacked with big names from the 90s joining Busta Rhymes were fellow hip hop icons Redman, Big Daddy Kane and Chali 2na — a rare gathering of rap royalty under one roof.

Fans packed the grass well before showtime, buzzing with excitement and dancing along to the classics the dj was playing. When Busta finally emerged the energy exploded, the crowd had people jumping, dancing and rapping along to every bar.

The setlist spanned decades from '90s classics to 2000s club bangers and even some of his more recent experiments. Standout moments included fiery renditions of "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check," "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See," "Make It Clap," "Break Ya Neck," "Gimme Some More," and more.

As the night progressed, his stage presence was commanding presence, tight delivery that proved that even after decades in the game, Busta still owns the stage. One review summed it up: "the whole Crystal Palace Bowl bouncing," a testament to the multi-generational audience united by his music.

What made the 2025 show especially compelling was not just nostalgia, but vitality. While Busta delivered his greatest hits, he also embraced new sounds and recent collaborations — evidence that he's still evolving, not merely revisiting the past.

Supporting acts added depth to the evening: each Redman, Big Daddy Kane, Chali 2na — brought their own flavour, warming up the crowd and honouring hip hop's legacy before handing over the reins to the headliner.

Organisers of South Facing Festival clearly curated a lineup with intention, combining veterans of hip hop with contemporary energies. The result: a show that felt like both a celebration of rap history and a reminder that Busta Rhymes remains a force in 2025.

The 15 August 2025 show at Crystal Palace Bowl wasn't just a concert. It was an experience: high energy, nostalgia, evolution, crowd unity — everything a live music fan could hope for. For many, it was the kind of show that reminds you why you fell in love with live hiphop in the first place.
